Toolbox File Transfer Process Update

As part of our digital transformation, we have conducted a review of the current file transfer solution within Toolbox.


We feel that the service no longer meets the high standards that we require from solutions we provide for you. As a result, the Toolbox file transfer service has been retired, effective immediately for all new file transfers.


Next steps

Existing file transfers currently in process will be honoured for 30 days from when they were initiated, after which, the service will no longer be available. After this date, any transfers in progress will no longer be valid. Any remaining files will be permanently deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.


If you've been notified via an email from noreply@fstoolbox.com that you have a file waiting to be retrieved, please follow the instructions contained within the email.


Alternative solutions

We're not able to recommend alternative solutions but can offer suggestions to consider when selecting an alternative file transfer solution:

  • Use secure protocols: utilise SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) or HTTPS for secure, encrypted communication channels. Avoid unencrypted methods like FTP.
  • Implement strong encryption: ensure data is encrypted both at rest (while stored) and in transit (while moving) to prevent unauthorised interception.
  • Enforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): require MFA or 2FA for all user access to prevent unauthorised access via compromised passwords.
  • Data location: ensure the chosen provider will be hosting your data in ideally the UK, Europe or the US, as data integrity cannot be guaranteed outside these regions.
